Step Four

Celebrate!

We made reservations for the Captain Daniel Packer Inne, which it turns out is one, of many, snazzy joints in Mystic. It didn't look like much from the outside, but the Internet said it was the place to be for good food.

It is a very cool historic house. We were led up tiny stairs, built for much smaller feet than mine, to the third story. We did not have one of the coveted window seats, but the atmosphere was charming. I could imagine myself to be a weary traveler, in need of an inn, in the 1700's.

The menu was made up of many fancy meats and, of course, seafood.  I had never had duck before, so Steve let me steal a bite of his. He said it was very good duck, but I have nothing to compare it to. The Salmon was yummy.

I think the food that stole the show for me was the roasted garlic. It was spreadable and yummy on their bread. Yep, I am fairly easy to please.

Yummy roasted garlic and butter.

Delightful salmon

Delicious Duck

We decided that our stomachs could not possibly hold dessert, so we took some for later.

It was a lovely celebration of our little wedding and set the bar very high for all future married dinners!
